Academic Experiences

Bethel College is a top academic institution in the region.

We have long prioritized rigorous academic programs which prepare students for meaningful lives of work and service.

We have over 40 academic areas, including accredited nursing, social work and education programs.

The liberal arts model of education means students will be not only well-versed in their major, but will have a strong foundation in reading, writing and interpreting texts, which prove useful in most all careers.

Learn more about The Thresher Way.

Part of what makes the academic experience so exciting is the fact that we see the students so regularly every day not only in our classrooms, but in our offices. We're invested in their lives and we find ways to help them make that academic application occur not only in the classroom and toward their future careers, but also right here, right now on campus. The Bethel curriculum connects the liberal arts to the real world, where we take a bunch of different classes in the different areas. And this gives us just a broader idea of what's out there. They give students the opportunity to be more open-minded. We expect every student to engage in undergraduate research. We have an event at the end of the spring semester called Eureka and it focuses on creative activities. So we fold into this notion that creative activities has just as much to offer. We focus on making sure that students have an opportunity to present at an actual symposium. Sometimes they present on panels and sometimes they will present their musical feature numbers. When I graduate from Bethel, I will be prepared for my postgraduate career and maybe even continuing my education from there.
